We Love Tea!History

Twelve years ago, Janice Bixby set up Ginger Jane’s as an ordinary teashop, with only 40 kinds of tea and no confections to speak of.  Eleven years ago, Janice began the bi-weekly raffle, offering hand-sewn duplicates of the original Ginger Jane kitten. Eight years ago, in early October, Janice’s daughter Miriam Bixby took over. Miriam decided to show holiday spirit by giving trick-or-treaters a discount. Inspired by this concept, discounts were also offered to people dressing up as elves or Santa Claus within a week of Christmas. Thus began the practice of giving discounts for folks in costume! Over the last five years, the menu has grown to include pastries and confections, making Ginger Jane’s the best parlor in town for tea and treats.
